This is a quick iPhone video demonstrating the Ruud Complement Jig. I am cutting a complementary board for a box joint with variably spaced pins and sockets. The jig is essentially a modified template-based jig where the indexing pin can be offset.
This Sketchup animation gives an idea of how the jig is made. It's pretty simple. The key to getting a good box-joint fit with this jig is to use shims to adjust the position of the index pin. Here is a link to the Sketchup file.
